latest update 6.17.2019
Kayak Polo in Portland is outdoors on the Willamette for the summer - Friday evenings at 5:30 until close to dark at Tryon Cove Park, Lake Oswego. You can also park at Rivervilla Park in Oak Grove and paddle across the river.
OKCC Pool dates at Columbia Pool are over until early 2020.
North Clackamas Pool Sessions are over until Fall 2019
There are several swimming pools that offer pool time when kayakers may bring their boat to the pool for practice. This is especially helpful for people working on their roll. Swimming pools, being much warmer than the rivers, offer the opportunity for repetition without getting a "brain freeze". Be sure to rinse your boat, inside and out, before putting it in the pool. Many pools require helmets for safety, not only for boaters, but for anyone in the water during kayak time, so be sure to bring yours.
Every winter, OKCC rents a local pool to provide pool sessions for kayakers. If you're working on your roll or other skills, you'll find friendly OKCC members who will help you. If you join or renew your OKCC membership at the pool, then that pool session is free. Check the OKCC users group at Yahoo or find us on Facebook for information about pool sessions. Alternatively, email us for more information.
